It’s official: The city council of Århus backs the building of the mosque in Aarhus V.!
Yesterday evening, the city council accepted the proposed site for the mosque and Islamic cultural centre. A six year long struggle has for the time being reached it’s climax, and the project looks more probable than ever.
“Now we got a place to build our mosque! Can you imagine?”, says an exalted local muslim woman, and continues: ”Today we can’t do prayers besides at home, since the small prayerhouses out in town are just for men. It’s about time we get equal possibilities and a real place of worship of Allah.”
A majority of the citycouncils 31 members voted for the mosquebuilding site, and just nine against.
“We believe muslims all around Denmark will donate money and help realize the building of the first true mosque in the country. Now that it is a real project and not just a dream, people will be more eager to donate”, a spokesperson for the project says.
